Special Issue of the International Review of Law: Emerging Governance Issues of Sovereign Wealth Funds
The International Review of Law (“IRL”) (based at Qatar University College of Law) is now soliciting articles for a special issue of the IRL to be dedicated to the exploration of emerging governance issues of sovereign wealth funds (“SWFs”). The IRL, a double blind peer reviewed journal, will be publishing the work of select scholars working on cutting-edge issues contributing to the global discourse on SWFs.
In recent years SWFs have evolved significantly as investors. SWFs are a significant source of foreign direct investment and are investing in a broad spectrum of assets including farmland, airports, energy, finance, real estate, equity markets and have strengthened global economic links by entering into partnerships and joint ventures with private entities and other SWFs. The IRL seeks articles addressing how SWFs impact (or should impact) the following non-exclusive list of concerns that intersect with governance issues of SWFs: climate change, corporate governance of portfolio companies, environmental protection, ethical investing, global financial regulation, human rights, regulation of SWFs, renewable energy and sustainable development. Those interested in contributing are requested to respond to this Call for Papers by sending their submissions to: http://www.editorialmanager.com/irl/ by January 15, 2014. All contributions will be subject to a double blind peer review in accordance with the usual procedures of the IRL.
