The Department of Politics and Public Administration (PPA) at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is
pleased to host the second Asia-Pacific Politics and Public Administration (APPPA) Conference from
May 18 to 19, 2026. This conference aims to bring together scholars conducting cutting-edge empirical
research across all subfields of political science and public administration, fostering dialogue among
researchers from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

We welcome submissions employing diverse methodological approaches, including quantitative,
qualitative, and mixed-methods research. The conference will feature short paper presentations from
accepted authors. Building on the successful inaugural conference, which convened over 100 scholars,
this year’s APPPA continues to provide a dynamic platform for high-quality work in progress and
scholarly exchange.

HKU will provide lunches and a conference dinner. Participants are expected to fund their own travel
and accommodation. For colleagues outside of Hong Kong, a small number of awards to cover travel
and accommodation are available. When applying, colleagues are asked to indicate if they require
financial support to attend the conference.
